No particular reason. I just have a feeling. This is a non Ecoboost 2017 Flex.

...or owner doesn’t step on it so one is constantly shut by valves.

Looks like the real thing to me, it even has a muffler.
I think the dummy was inside it and backed up into a snow bank

True story: I noticed hesitation when I first picked up my F30. After I picked up the car, I left her in 3rd gear going 100+ km/h all the way back home along the highway from the dealer out of town, hesitation’s gone.

Wait. All of that metal for a non-functioning pipe?

I rented one of those to bring my mother and some people up to Tahoe, I didn’t have a vehicle to fit that many comfortably. It was pretty good, even in some serious snow it didn’t give me any trouble, plenty of room too. I just don’t need it all the time.

Dual exit muffler. There’s plenty of flow out one of the tips to allow the car to idle out of the snowbank for some for sale photos.
Probably wasn’t running long enough for the clogged one to melt.

Bro, cooling down your exhaust reduces heat soak! Cold Air Outtake.

The N52 motor in my car can have problems with the valve train not getting properly lubricated. This is caused by a lack of oil pressure at lower RPMs. The suggested fix for valve train noise is to let the engine rev above 6000rpm for one minute, and see if that takes car of it.

If I really needed a larger vehicle it’s what I’d buy.

That’s a good point. It’s probably a Y pipe after the rear axle not a true dual exhaust, so nothing is being forced out of that muffler

My kia’s owner manual said that I shouldn’t hoon the engine for the first 1000km, but I do make sure it sees its whole rev range sufficiently often, consider it a Korean tune up.
maybe low RPMs mean low oil pressure and that makes the car sort of want to give up on life?

Mine was well past 1000km when I picked her up, lol.
Probably just gunked up by previous owner’s city driving.

Oh, yeah totally!
My family members would get angry whenever I went past 4000rpm once in a while... Little do they know about carbon build up!
Really, my italian tune ups are the only thing keeping our cars alive

I guess Turbo DI is the car manufacturers’ version of planned obsolescence. Markup the walnut blast service, either make a fortune there or make people buy newer cars with more Turbo DI engines lol.

I think planned obsolescence comes by merit of owners that don’t read their manuals and know that cars need to be ran in order to stay functioning... I have no empathy for the owners of ruined RS6 because they never dared giving the car a little shove
I do feel sad for those poor RS6s

I have small korean economy car, and it was babied pretty much the first 90k of its life. I noticed it was kind of slow to change gears. I didn’t like that. I’ve been making it a point the last 5k or so to redline it and hold it there at a minimum once a week, usually when getting on the highway. I’ve been experiencing much better acceleration (probably cleaned the throttle) and much better response from the transmission. The Italian tune-up works even for cars that are not in the least bit Italian.
It shifts whether you like it or not when you hit redline in 1st. That, coincidentally, is also 35 mph on the dot, and therefore completely legal in most areas.
